Jamie Lawson, przyjaciel Eda Sheerana i laureat prestiżowej nagrody Ivor Novello, zapowiada drugi album dla należącej do słynniejszego kolegi po fachu wytwórni Gingerbread Man Records. Płyta o tytule "Happy Accidents" ma premierę 29 września 2017. Pierwszy singiel z albumu to "Can't See Straight", a Jamie wykonywał go na żywo już od jakiegoś czasu, także w duecie z Edem Sheeranem. Piosenkę napisali Jamie, Ed oraz Johnny McDaid. Sheeran tak mówił o drugiej płycie Lawsona: - Głęboko wierzę, że to najlepsza muzyka, jaką Jamie kiedykolwiek napisał. Ostatnie lata są dla niego niesamowite. Bardzo się cieszę, że jestem częścią tej jego podróży. Z kolei Jamie mówił o albumie następująco: - Sunset Sound Studios w Los Angeles. Właśnie tam nagrałem tę płytę. Wcześniej nagrywali w tym miejscu The Doors, James Taylor, Prince we wczesnym etapie kariery, Elliott Smith, Doobie Brothers, The Eagles, Natalie Merchant, Sheryl Crow, Counting Crows. Do dziś nie wiem, jak to się stało, ale zawszę, będę za to ogromnie wdzięczny. Joe Chiccarelli ma na koncie współpracę, chociażby z U2, Beckiem i Tori Amos, a wspomniani klawiszowiec Roger Manning Jr i perkusista Matt Chamberlain grali wcześniej z Jellyfish i Beckiem (pierwszy) oraz Fioną Apple i Tori Amos (drugi). Tytuł płyty Jamie Lawson zaczerpnął z pierwszych rozmów, jakie odbył wówczas z narzeczoną, obecnie z żoną, która przypadkiem znalazła się na jego koncercie w klubie The Bedford. Co ciekawe, lata wcześniej w tym samym miejscu Jamie poznał Eda Sheerana. W inspirowanym gospel utworze "A Little Mercy", współkomponowanym przez Simona Aldreda alias Cherry Ghost, śpiewają w chórkach The Arnold Singers (m.in. James Taylor). Kompozycja "Sing To The River" opowiada o ojcu Jamiego, który zmarł, gdy muzyk miał 19 lat. Album emanuje ciepłem, optymizmem, podnosi na duchu. Pierwsza, imienna płyta Jamiego dla wytwórni Eda Sheerana, dotarła na szczyt brytyjskiej listy. Potem w ręce artysty wpadła nagroda Ivor Novello Award dla najlepszej piosenki.
