„Stabat Mater” Boccheriniego jest jednym z niewielu dzieł wokalnych, pozostawionych przez tego kompozytora. Nagranie z 1999 roku The King's Consort z legendarnym Robertem Kingiem, należy do jednych z lepszych wykonań tego dzieła. Ten sam gatunek muzyczny pojawił się również w twórczości mniej znanego kompozytora, Emanuela d'Astorgi, którego „Stabat Mater”, wzbogacone o ciepłe melodie typowe dla stylu neapolitańskiego, stanowi zakończenie albumu.
