Utwory wykonuje Taron Egerton, odtwórca tytułowej roli. Premierowe aranżacje zostały dostosowane do filmowej narracji. Elton John: „Kluczowe było, aby muzyka, którą napisałem i nagrałem, była w filmie śpiewana przez Tarona. Chciałem, aby pokazał swoją interpretację mojej osoby w całości, nie tylko grą aktorską. Zostawiłem Tarona w rękach Gilesa Martina, któremu zaufałem w pełni, bo to świetny człowiek. Nie chciałem łypać na Tarona gdzieś z cienia, podglądając proces. Wiedziałem, że zrobią to co trzeba.
