FrankTheuns studied recorder and modern flute at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. He was in Barthold Kuijken's flute and traverso class when he graduated in 1980. He plays with some of the best baroque orchestras in the world, including Il Fondamento, Anima Eterna, Les Talens Lyriques, Les Musiciens du Louvre, Les Concert des Nations, La Petite Bande and the Collegium Vocale. In 1989 he formed the ensemble "Il Trionfo del Suono" which is currently performing with Ewald Demeyere (harpsichord) and Martin Bauer (viola da gamba). This ensemble specialises in performing music from the baroque and classical periods. Frank Theuns teaches traverso at the Lemmensinstituut of Leuven and the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.
