"Mandala Brush" to następca cieszącego się dużym uznaniem albumu "Carolina" (2016, Glitterhoue Records), z którym Josh Haden zmienił swoją przeszłość zarówno osobistą, jak i rodzinną. W swoim najnowszym dziele Josh chce uchwycić atmosferę swoich koncertów. Wszystkie utwory zostały nagrane na żywo i komputerowej obróbki w Los Angeles.  "Mandala Brush" składa się z 11 utworów, w tym chwytliwych utworów, takich jak "Sugarkane", "Laurel, Clementine" i gospelowy "You bring me up".
