Na płycie znalazły się dzieła kompozytorów, których muzyka stanowi ważny kontekst dla dorobku i biografii Tadeusza Peipera – poety, pisarza, krytyka, teoretyka, redaktora – zwanego „papieżem awangardy”. Interpretują je współcześni artyści tacy jak Martha Argerich, Alison Balsom, Mariss Jansons czy Janusz Wawrowski.Tadeusz Peiper w czasie I wojny światowej trafił do Madrytu. Schronienie znalazło tu liczne grono artystów i intelektualistów z Europy i Ameryki Południowej, co wywołało ożywczy ferment w artystycznym życiu hiszpańskiej metropolii. Do tego kręgu dołączył poeta, tu poznawał twórczość Manuela de Falli. Po powrocie do Polski Peiper stał się jedną z najbardziej wpływowych postaci środkowoeuropejskiej awangardy. Na łamach założonej przez niego „Zwrotnicy” publikowane były rozmaite teksty poświęcone muzyce. Darius Milhaud, francuski korespondent czasopisma, pisał o dokonaniach Gabriela Faure i Igora Strawińskiego, ale także o współtworzonej przez siebie „Grupie Sześciu”, za duchowego patrona, której zwykło uważać się Erica Satie. Jednym z czołowych przedstawicieli „Les Six” był Francis Poulenc; warto wiedzieć, że jego Concert champêtre [Koncert wiejski] powstał z inspiracji Wandy Landowskiej, polskiej klawesynistki, której występy cieszyły się w Madrycie popularnością (w czym spora zasługa Peipera) i dla której komponował także de Falla.W orbicie zainteresowań środowiska „Zwrotnicy” znajdowali się również Arthur Honegger i Karol Szymanowski, nazwany na łamach czasopisma „jednym z niewielu prawdziwych artystów, jakich posiada dzisiaj Polska”. Album otwiera jedna z najbardziej znanych kompozycji pierwszego z wymienionych autorów, Pacific 231. Płyta prezentuje także m.in. „Mity” Karola Szymanowskiego czy „Noce w ogrodach Hiszpanii” Manuela de Falli. Do kompilacji włączone zostały również przepojone nutą orientu kompozycje Erica Satie, a także wspomniany już, a mniej znany szerokiej publiczności energetyzujący koncert klawesynowy Francisa Poulenca.
