Jeden z najpopularniejszych cyklów kompozycji Jerzego Fryderyka Haendla. Tworzące „Muzykę na wodzie” trzy orkiestrowe suity weszły na stałe do kanonu muzyki poważnej. Powstały na zamówienie brytyjskiego króla Jerzego I dla uprzyjemnienia przejażdżki po Tamizie, którą władca zorganizował w lipcu 1717 roku. Według świadka wydarzeń, pruskiego legata Friedricha Boneta, orkiestra towarzysząca Jerzemu I podczas rejsu składała się z 50 muzyków grających na wszelkiego typu instrumentach a same kompozycje tak spodobały się królowi, że wykonano je trzykrotnie (podczas rejsu, w czasie kolacji oraz w drodze powrotnej). Suity, inspirowane stylem włoskiego, francuskiego i niemieckiego baroku, są żywe, radosne, barwne i niezwykle zróżnicowane. W interpretacji Minkowskiego aż kipią energią. Mimo że francuski dyrygent wielokrotnie wykonywał je ze swoją orkiestrą Les Musiciens du Louvre na koncertach w całej Europie, jest to jego pierwsze nagranie płytowe Heandlowskiej „Muzyki na wodzie”.
