Potem rozmawiają o sprawach ważnych - o sławie, o bogactwie, o przemijaniu, wspominają swoich wielkich bohaterów i ich czyny - Włoch zaśpiewa o rycerzu Scaramelli, który rusza w bój; Angielczyk o dzielnym Robin Hoodzie, którego legenda obiegła już całą Europę; Polak wysławiać będzie mądrość i szlachetność Zygmunta Starego oraz męstwo Zamojskiego. Potem zaśpiewają o miłości - tej szczęśliwej i spełnionej oraz takiej, która jest źródłem mąk i cierpień, o zdradzie i zbrodni, o nieczułych kochankach i rozstaniach na wieki. A ponieważ przy wieczerzy nie może zabraknąć szlachetnych trunków, a zwłaszcza wina - zgodnie pochwalą ich moc - bo przecież „wszystkie kłopoty ten trunek złoty bez pracy wykorzeni”.
