Podczas pobytu w Rzymie Handel spotkał się z Arcangelo Corellim z okazji wieczorów muzycznych organizowanych przez kardynała Pietro Ottoboni i księcia Fracesco Ruspoli. Sonaty Handla publikowane na początku lat 20-tych odzwierciedlają czteroczęściową strukturę opracowaną przez Corellego, jednak jego późniejsze dzieła kameralne są już w znacznym stopniu zmodyfikowane, dojrzalsze i bardziej indywidualne. Jak zwykle też w utworach kameralnych Handla słyszymy autocytaty melodyczne z jego dzieł operowych.
Mimo że Antonio Lotti był niezwykle płodnym kompozytorem dziś znany jest przede wszystkim z ośmio częściowego cyklu "Crucifixus" - motet ten jest w rzeczywistości częścią Credo Missa Sancti Christophori.
