Wybitny kompozytor pochodzący z Francji Charles Camille Saint-Saens, urodzony w 1835 roku w Paryżu, zmarł w 1921 roku w Algierze. Prócz komponowaniem artysta zajmował również grą na fortepianie i organach, oraz trudnił się dyrygenturą. Jego epoką był romantyzm oraz był prekursorem używania złożonej instrumentacji.  Album został wydany przez wytwórnię Hyperion (CDA 68212).
