Kolejny albumu jednego z najlepszych obecnie zespołów Europy – Kammerorchester Basel. Tym razem zespół pod dyrekcją Riccardo Minassiego wykona zapomniane, napisane w Neapolu w 1747 roku, oratorium bożonarodzeniowe Nicola Porpory (1686–1768).
Po ponad półrocznym wystawianiu dzieł Szymanowskiego przez Londyńską Orkiestrę Symfoniczną z prowadzącym Valerym Gergievem, doczekaliśmy się płyty z dwoma pierwszymi symfoniami polskiego kompozytora. Te skomplikowane dzieła, będące w duchu późnoromantycznej symfonii, cechują się bogatym użyciem orkiestry, doskonale kierowanej przez głównego dyrygenta LSO. Gergiev jako miłośnik kompozycji Szymanowskiego dokonał wszelkich starań, aby jego muzyka zyskała zdecydowanie większy rozgłos niż dotychczas.

Tylko jedna z ról, które reprezentowane są w tym albumie poświęconym Verdiemu, znalazła się w scenicznym repertuarze Callas. Elisabetta z „Don Carlo”, którą wykonała w La Scala w 1954 r. Callas wykonuje tu także widowiskową mezzo-sopranową arię Eboli „O don fatale” z tej samej opery, która pojawiała się w recitalach artystki od lat 60. Interesującym wyborem są arie Miny z rzadko wykonywanej opery „Aroldo”.
