Cecilia Bartoli, mezzosopranistka związana od ponad 30 lat z firmą Decca Classics, prezentuje album upamiętniający najbardziej znanego śpiewaka operowego XVIII wieku: kastrata Farinellego. Album zawiera arie autorstwa starszego brata Farinellego Riccarda Broschi oraz jego nauczyciela i mentora Nicoli Porpory. Ponadto także nowe nagranie arii „Alto Giove” z „Polifemo” Porpory, które w owych czasach potwierdzało wyjątkową zdolność Farinellego do śpiewania długich fraz i niezwykle wysokich nut. Artystce partneruje zespół Il Giardino Armonico pod dyrekcją Giovanniego Antoniniego, z którym artystka współpracowała przy nagradzanych Grammy albumach „Vivaldi” oraz „Sacrificium” (pierwszym albumie poświęconym kastratom, z 2009 r.)

Alexei Volodin is one of the most outstanding Russian pianists of the present day, a true masterpianist. This is his 3rd recording on Challenge Classics which is focussed on his beloved composer Sergei Rachmaninoff.Alexei Volodin was born in 1977 in St. Petersburg, and began taking piano lessons there at the age of nine. A year later he moved to Moscow, where he studied first with I. Chaklina and later with T. Zelikman at the Gnessin Music School. In 1994 he enrolled in the master class of Professor Elisso Virsaladze at the Moscow Conservatoire. 2001/02 he studied at the Theo Lieven International Piano Foundation in Como.He has won several prizes at different international competitions. In 2003 he won the First Prize at the ninth edition of the Concours Géza Anda in Zurich, award that launched his international career.Alexei Volodin has given recitals all over the world. After his debut recital in Montpellier, he has been re-invited to be "Artist in residence" in the season 2006/07. Alexei Volodin has performed, with great success, in Barcelona, Madrid, Lyon, Rome, Heidelberg, Baden-Baden, Frankfurt, Zurich, Vienna, La Roque d'Anthéron, Amsterdam, Bruxelles, Luxembourg, New York, Tokyo and Toulouse.
