Helen Cuvert wybitna artystka, po sukcesie w interpretacjach Haydna tym razem podjęła się pracy nad Beethovenem. Na płycie będziemy mogli usłyszeć 3 sonaty „Sonata for Piano No.1 in F minor op.2/1”, „Sonata for Piano No.13 in E flat op.27/1 "quasi una fantasia"”, „Sonata for Piano No.28 in A op.101.”. Tracklista: Couvert, Helene - Sonate Fuer Klavier Nr. 1 F-Moll 1. The German organist, Gunther Rost, studied with Günther Kaunzinger (Würzburg), and Marie-Claire Alain (Paris) and complemented his studies by taking master-classes with Daniel Roth, James David Christie and Jean Guillou. He has been awarded prizes for his performances in more than ten important organ competitions, including the Leipzig Bach Competition, the Dallas International Organ Competition, the ION Nuremberg, and Györ/Hungary. In 2002 he was awarded the "Bayerischer Kunstförderpreis" (Bavarian state award for the advancement of arts). Bernard AUBERTIN, born in 1952, is one of the world’s leading organ builders. His status has been recognized in his native country of France by the title Maître d’art Facture d’Orgues – a literal translation of which means "A Living Treasure"! This was conferred on him by the French Ministry of Culture and is the hightest accolade ever given by France to an organ builder. Bernard Aubertin’s family were restorers and makers of religious furniture for a number of centuries - a tradition that he now maintains in his own specialist way.The young Bernard acquired his taste for woodcarving in his father’s workshop at Elvange in the Moselle and he subsequently became a student at the Strasbourg School of Decorative Arts after leaving the Collége Saint-Augustin in Bitche. He then trained with several organ builders before starting his own firm at the age of 25. In 1994 he was awarded the Crédit du Nord “Old French Houses” Prize for the restoration of the ancient 12th century Priory of Courtefontaine which is his secluded base situated midway between Besançon and Dôle.Although Bernard Aubertin’s work is to be found in many countries as far a field as Japan, his first commission in the United Kingdom was awarded to him in 2001 by the ancient Scottish University of Aberdeen. The University Chapel of King’s College became the home in 2004 of a fine organ of classical design and traditional craftsmanship – in keeping with the original concept of the 500 year old chapel. In 2006 the University conferred upon him the degree of Doctor honoris causa. To date, the magnum opus of the Aubertin House is to be found in the central Paris church of Saint-Louis-en-l’Isle which was inaugurated in 2005. For this great instrument the City of Paris awarded him by presenting him with the Grande Médaille de Vermeil de la Ville de Paris. In the 2007 New Year Honours, M. Chirac invested Bernard as Chevalier, Legion d’Honneur (red ribbon) – the highest accolade given in France by the President of the Republic. From 1998 to 2002 Gunther Rost taught organ performance and improvisation at the Hermann Zilcher Conservatory and at the University of Music in Würzburg; subsequently he received an appointment as professor of organ at the University of Music and Dramatic Arts Graz in Austria. Besides teaching at Graz University, he acts as jury member and teaches master classes, e.g. at the Moscow Tchaikowski Conservatory.

Steven Isserlis has earned a reputation as one of the foremost cellists of our day. At the same time he has become known for his ingenuity and innovation in programming, something which this disc is the perfect example of. It combines four works for cello and orchestra that wouldn’t even exist without Isserlis – all arrangements made at his personal request, and each of them by the arranger of his personal choice. The most radical reworking is the opening piece, an arrangement based on the fact that Debussy at the age of 19 composed a Suite for cello and orchestra. All that is known for certain about this suite is that its fourth movement was called Intermezzo, and that this piece has survived in a version for cello and piano. In her imaginative reconstruction of – or rather replacement for – Debussy’s original composition, Sally Beamish has used this piece as the opening movement, going on to construct orchestral arrangements of four other Debussy works from the same period, including the piano pieces Rêverie and Danse bohémienne. The two Ravel songs which follow were arranged by Isserlis’ friend, the violinist Richard Tognetti in order to supplement the concert programme for a tour that the two were to make with Tognetti’s own Australian Chamber Orchestra. Vladimir Blok’s orchestration of Prokofiev’s Concertino, which had been left incomplete at the death of the composer, was made as Isserlis was unhappy with the existing arrangement of the work, made by Kabalevsky. The disc closes with the earliest of these four re-visions, film composer Christopher Palmer’s orchestration of Ernest Bloch’s From Jewish Life, allowing the disc to end with the movement entitled Prayer – ‘one of the most fervently beautiful pieces ever written for the cello’, according to Steven Isserlis himself. Throughout the programme Isserlis receives the expert support of Tapiola Sinfonietta conducted by Gábor Takács-Nagy. Tracklist:1. Suite Pour Violoncelle et Orchestre: Prelude (Intermezzo)2.
