Elton John: „Kluczowe było, aby muzyka, którą napisałem i nagrałem, była w filmie śpiewana przez Tarona. Chciałem, aby pokazał swoją interpretację mojej osoby w całości, nie tylko grą aktorską. Zostawiłem Tarona w rękach Gilesa Martina, któremu zaufałem w pełni, bo to świetny człowiek. Nie chciałem łypać na Tarona gdzieś z cienia, podglądając proces. Wiedziałem, że zrobią to co trzeba. Kiedy po raz pierwszy posłuchałem efektów ich pracy, byłem zachwycony. Odpowiednie ukazanie muzyki było niezbędne, aby ten film miał w ogóle rację bytu. Piosenki są jego integralną częścią.”  Na płycie „Rocketman: Music From The Motion Picture” usłyszymy m.in. „Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting” w epickim zbiorowym wykonaniu czy „I Want Love” towarzyszące pewnemu poruszającemu momentowi w filmie. Soundtrack zawiera również premierową kompozycję Eltona Johna i Bernie’ego Taupina „(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again”, którą Elton wykonuje wspólnie z Taronem Egertonem.
