Duet z Brooklynu, Mark Rogers i Mary Byrne nagrali swój debiut "I Line My Days Along Your Weight" jako... prawdziwy duet: naprzeciw siebie w odległości kilku centymetrów, z zamiarem grania i słuchania. Eksperymentowali z archaicznymi instrumentami - barytonem akustycznym, rezonatorem trickiem, złotą erą, stalową kolanową pianką, pionowym fortepianem i stuletnią mandoliną tchnąc w nie nowe życie. Mark i Mary wychowywali się po przeciwnych stronach Susquehanna River w środkowej Pensylwanii, ale ich ścieżki spotkały się wiele lat później na wybuchowo twórczej muzycznej scenie East Atlanta. Stamtąd przenieśli się do Brooklynu. Wcześniej Mark grał z indie-folkowym zespołem The Loom z Brooklynu, z którym koncertował i występował w ramach serii "Next Wave" Brooklyn Academy of Music oraz w Pop Montreal i CMJ. Był także multiinstrumentalistą i autorem piosenek ze słynnym kwartetem alt-Americana Atlanty, Myssouri, którego "War / Love Blues" został wybrany przez Pitchfork jako najlepszy album. Mary była główną wokalistką, autorką tekstów i gitarzystką tria Atlanta Hot Young Priest, który koncertował w całym kraju.
