Pochodzący z Baltimore pianista Lafayette Harris Jr. słynie z energetycznego wyczucia rytmicznej witalności, smacznego, pełnego brzmienia muzycznego podejścia do klawiatury i wrażliwości przesiąkniętej bluesem. Płyta "You Can't Lose with the Blues" odzwierciedla zarówno to doświadczenie, jak i niezliczone wpływy, od legendy boogie-woogie, Sammy'ego Price'a po Kenny'ego Barron'a i Barry'ego Harris'a.
