Jako część kolektywu Folklore Tapes, Children Of Alice po cichu tworzyli swoje amorficzne i odurzające pejzaże dźwiękowe, począwszy od wydanego w 2013 roku utworu 'Harbinger Of Spring', który trafił na dzielone wydawnictwo 'Ornithology'. Poetyckie przywoływanie odrodzenia i nowego wzrostu, było pierwszym tworem Jamesa Cargilla po Broadcast. Nazwa nowego zespołu była hołdem dla zmarłej Trish Keenan (koleżanki z Broadcast), dla której Alicja w krainie czarów, a przede wszystkim idylliczna interpretacja z lat sześćdziesiątych Jonathana Millera, była nieustającym źródłem inspiracji. Nazwa przywołuje jej ducha. Zespół (albo raczej kolektyw), oprócz Cargilla, tworzą: klawiszowiec Broadcast Roj Stevens oraz współzałożyciel wytwórni Ghost Box Julian House, którego charakterystyczne prace graficzne również nadają oryginalny wygląd wydawnictwom wytwórni. Muzyka Broadcast - jak dowiódł doskonale przyjęty album "Haha Sound" z 2003 r. - urzekająco łączyła odrobinę podszyty Stereolabem retro-futuryzm z chłodnym suspense'em klasycznych europejskich czarnych kryminałów (patrz: "Windą na szafot", "Rififi") i nadzwyczajną wrażliwością w zakresie kształtowania melodyki i zawieszonego gdzieś między zmierzchem a nieprzeniknioną nocą klimatu utworów. Dwa lata minęły od tamtego znakomitego albumu i oto Broadcast, odchudzony do duetu tworzonego przez Trish i basistę Jamesa Cargilla, firmuje trzeci album "Tender Buttons". Efektem jest może bardziej ascetyczne, miejscami bliższe poetyce electro-popowej brzmienie, ale bogactwo nastrojów obejmujące całe spektrum szarości i czerni i podporządkowane ich kreowaniu aranżacje na głos i instrumenty stawiają tę płytę w klasie największych osiągnięć brytyjskiego popu roku 2005. Jeśli ktoś może sobie wyobrazić, jak brzmiałby song Marleny Dietrich, musicalowa piosenka Julie Andrews albo ballada Leonarda Cohena.
