Nigdy nie przypuszczali, że odniosą sukces, jako muzycy i zespół koncertowy. Multi-instrumentaliści Devon Portielje, Conner Molander i Dylan Phillips założyli grupę jeszcze, jako nastolatkowie w 2009 roku w Montrealu. Instynkt i wiara doprowadziła ich do stworzenia debiutanckiego albumu „The Dark Eyes”, wydanego w 2012 roku. Płyta został doskonale przyjęta przez krytykę oraz publiczność. Koncertowali m.in. u boku Of Monsters and Man, Mumford & Sons.
