John Coltrane założył swój pierwszy kwartet jako lider w nowojorskiej Jazz Gallery w maju 1960 roku. Zaczął także grać na saksofonie sopranowym podczas swojej kadencji w tym klubie. W tym właśnie czasie nagrał swoją jedyną sesję z trębaczem Donem Cherry. Na tym albumie Trane "podwaja się" na sopranach, Jako bonus dodano oryginalne wersje studyjne trzech kompozycji Ornette Colemana (z udziałem Colemana z Donem Cherry i Charliem Hadenem), a także rzadki utwór „The Blessing” grupy Colemana na żywo.
