Wydany na dwóch płytach winylowych 'The Closer You Get', to klasyczna pozycja w dyskografii najlepszego rockowego zespołu z Nottingham. Oryginalnie wydany w 2000 roku, okazał się przełomowym w dorobku formacji, nieustannie wprawiając w zakłopotanie media, próbujące go zaszufladkować pod względem stylistycznym. Grupa odarła post-britpopowy, brytyjski rock, nadając mu ostrzejszą, punkową ostrość. Inspirując się Sex Pistols i The Stranglers, a także amerykańskimi zespołami spod znaku Sonic Youth czy Mercury Rev, Six By Seven zawsze chcieli tworzyć piosenki, które mogłyby być grane w radiu. "Chcieliśmy wypełnić lukę, muzyką której sami chcielibyśmy słuchać i którą chcielibyśmy kupować" - tłumaczy Chris Olley. "Coś jakby Captain Beefheart robił pop." Łącząc mizantropijne teksty Olley`a z jego charakterystycznym stylem wokalnym, muzyka została oparta na wrogich partiach gitar, tworzących gęstą ścianę dźwięków. I jak podkreśla sam Olley: "przez 'The Closer You Get' przemawia jad."

Jim Jarmusch directs this rock documentary featuring Neil Young and his band Crazy Horse on tour in 1996. As well as concert performances, Jarmusch includes behind-the-scenes footage and interviews filmed between 1976 and 1986. Tracks include 'Like a Hurricane', 'Tonight's the Night' and 'Chief Crazy Horse'. Longtime Neil Young producer, the late David Briggs, came up with the idea for the film, and the title refers to a comment he made to the singer shortly before his death: 'this is the year of the horse. All you have to do now is get closer and closer to the source. Keep getting purer and purer.'
