"A Real Labour Of Love" to płyta UB40, na której pojawiają się znani z klasycznego składu członkowie formacji - wokalista Ali Campbell, drugi wokalista Astro i klawiszowiec Mickey Virtue. - Pierwsze trzy płyty z serii "Labour of Love" zawierały piosenki, przy których dorastaliśmy - wyjaśnia Ali. - Ten album zbudowaliśmy wokół utworów, których słuchaliśmy, gdy UB40 już ruszyło w trasę. Między 1983 a 1998 zespół wydał trzy płyty z serii "Labour of Love", na których znalazły się przeróbki takich hitów jak "Cherry Oh Baby" Erica Donaldsona, "Kingston Town" Lord Creator, "Come Back Darling" Johnny'ego Osbourne'a czy "Red Red Wine" Neila Diamonda. Po 20 latach grupa postanowiła odświeżyć formułę na wydawnictwie "A Real Labour Of Love", gdzie zamieściła przede wszystkim numery, które zdefiniowały scenę reggae w latach 80. (np. "Here I Come" Barringtona Levy’ego, "Hush Darling" Gregory'ego Isaaca), ale także "A Place In The Sun" Steviego Wondera z 1966 roku czy "How Could I Leave" Dennisa Browna z końca lat 70. - Autorzy tych piosenek to nasi bohaterowie, kluczowi wykonawcy reggae - dodaje Astro. Twórcą okładki jest współczesny amerykański malarz Mark T Smith, który przygotował projekt specjalnie na zamówienie UB40. Pierwsza kopia dzieła, za autografem artysty, trafiła na aukcję, z której dochód zasili Teenage Cancer Trust. Album "A Real Labour Of Love" dedykowany jest puzoniście, Johnowi Johnsonowi, byłemu członkowi Simply Red, który zmarł na raka w 2017 roku. Wydawnictwo promuje singel "She Loves Me Now".
