John Birks "Dizzy" Gillespie (ur. 21 października 1917 w Cheraw, Karolina Południowa, zm. 6 stycznia 1993 w Englewood, New Jersey – amerykański trębacz, kompozytor i wokalista jazzowy, współtwórca stylu bebop. Laureat NEA Jazz Masters Award1982. Dizzy Gillespie wywarł ogromny wpływ na wielu muzyków jazzowych w tym m.in. na takie sławy jak Miles Davis, Max Roach, Arturo Sandoval. Wprowadził do jazzu elementy muzyki kubańskiej. W Polsce występował w 1965 i 1971 roku. DVD zawiera koncert z New Jersey Festival, USA nagrany w składzie: Dizzy Gillespie - trumpet, Ed Cherry - guitar, Sam Rivers - saxophone, John Lee - bass, Ignacio Berroa - drums. Dołączono także album "Groovin' High" na CD zawierający takie standarty jak: "A Night In Tunisia", "Bebop", "Groovin' High", "Dizzie Atmosphere", "Salt Peanuts" i wiele innych.
