„Double Negative”  to tytuł krążka Low, który ukazuje się pod szyldem wytwórni Sub Pop. Za produkcję nowego krążka odpowiedzialny jest B.J. Burton (Bon Iver, Lizzo, Fancis and the Lights, James Blake). Utwory zostały zarejestrowane w studiu Justina Vernona April Base w Eau Claire, w stanie Wisconsin. Sparhawk, Parker i basista Steve Garrington wiedzieli, że chcą iść o krok dalej wraz z Burtonem i paletą jego dźwięków. Jednocześnie byli ciekawi, co może zdziałać z ich muzyką „facet od hip-hopu”. Zamiast obsesyjnie komponować w domu w Duluth w Minnesocie zespół udawał się do studia z nowymi pomysłami, nad którymi wspólnie pracowali z Burtonem przez dwa lata. Autorem szaty graficznej albumu jest brytyjski artysta Peter Liversidge.
