Wielka legenda bluesa na płycie winylowej. Fred McDowell nosił przydomek Mississippi Fred McDowell i komponował oraz nagrywał korzennego bluesa, typowego dla regionu Delty Mississippi. Nagrywać i występować zaczął po drugiej wojnie światowej. W kompozycjach Freda odbijały się ból, trud i niesprawiedliwość, jakiej doświadczali w tamtym czasie czarnoskórzy mieszkańcy Ameryki. Piosenki, których na prezentowanym krążku winylowym zebrano siedem, epatują szczerością. Cechowała ona wykonawców z tak zwanej starej szkoły amerykańskiego bluesa, do której Mississippi Fred McDowell należał. Album "Mississippi Delta Blues" artysta nagrał w 1965 roku w Como w stanie Mississippi, a produkcją zajął się Alan Bates. Wszystkie utwory zostały zremasterowane i wytłoczone na audiofilskim winylu.
