"Heartbeat City" ukazał się trzy lata po "Shake It Up" i okazał się jednym z największych sukcesów w historii The Cars. Wyprodukowana przez Roberta Johna "Mutta" Lange (m.in. AC/DC, Foreigner, Def Leppard) płyta dotarła do trzeciej pozycji na liście "Billboardu" i aż czterokrotnie pokryła się platyną w USA oraz złotem na Wyspach. Z tego wydawnictwa pochodzi niezapomniana ballada "Drive", a także przeboje "You Might Think", "Hello Again" (teledysk do tej kompozycji wyreżyserował Andy Warhol; klip wygrał pierwszą MTV Video Music Award w 1984 roku). Bonusów jest łącznie siedem, a wśród nich niepublikowane wersje "Why Can't I Have You", "I Refuse" i demo "Drive". W książeczce oprócz notki Davida Fricke jest też wywiad z Rikiem Ocaskiem. The period instrument ensemble Barokkanerne presents Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach in a debut recording with LAWO Classics. Led by Alfredo Bernardini, the group performs ground-breaking symphonies and concertos of this ardent next-eldest son of Johann Sebastian Bach. The music spans more than 30 years of C.P.E. Bach’s life as a composer - from his engagement as court musician in Berlin to his last years as director of music in Hamburg. This is Sturm and Drang and Enlightenment at its fieriest. Reason and feelings are distilled in a contrast-laden musical universe - Empfindsamkeit, sensitivity - in which humans and things human are the new wine of the age. Italian baroque oboe specialist Alfredo Bernardini, one of the world’s leading performers of early music, has garnered a number of international prizes for his many recordings. He is, among other things, the founder and artistic director of the ensemble ZEFIRO. Principal harpsichordist Christian Kjos is a sought-after performer who as a member of the quintet Ensemble Meridiana has won a number of prizes at international early music competitions. Barokkanerne, which debuted in the summer of 1989, has remained a Norwegian early music ensemble with an extensive concert schedule - including its own concert series in Oslo. The orchestra is a frequent guest at festivals throughout Norway and has been involved in a number of productions for Norwegian Radio and Television (NRK).

In March 1783, the readers of Cramer’s Magazin der Musik could read about a certain ‘Louis van Betthoven’, a ‘boy … of most promising talent’, whose first published work was being advertised as 'nine variations for the pianoforte, written by him on a march, engraved at Mannheim.’ The piece in question was the Dressler Variations, WoO 63, and it marked not only the beginning of an illustrious career, but also the start of Ludwig van Beethoven's lifelong involvement with variation form, culminating almost forty years later in the monumental Diabelli Variations for solo piano, and – in another field – the third movement of his Ninth symphony. In comparison, WoO 63 and the other works included here are certainly less heavy-weight, even if the so-called Venni Amore Variations, WoO 65, has a duration of more than 20 minutes, and in spite of its early date (1790/91) points forward to a much later period in Beethoven's œuvre. The final set of variations on the disc, the Six variations on Nel cor più non mi sento, WoO 70 were composed in 1795, around the same time as the three piano sonatas Op.2. In this series, Ronald Brautigam has previously recorded early sonatas and sonatinas from the same period as the present works, a disc described by the reviewer on German web site Klassik Heute as ‘providing a touching illustration of those times when the great Beethoven was simply young Ludwig’ through playing which is ‘simultaneously committed to the utmost purity of style and imbued with an immense musical exuberance’. As on the previous instalment in the series, Brautigam has chosen to perform these early variations on a fortepiano after a Walter & Sohn instrument from c.1805.

Świetna wiadomość dla fanów Fleetwood Mac! Pochodzący z 1982 roku multiplatynowy album "Mirage", doczekał się wznowienia. Wersja deluxe płyty, która zdobyła szczyt notowania "Billboardu", przygotowana została w wersji 3CD, 2CD, a także na krążkach winylowych. Wszystkie piosenki ponownie zmasterowano, a do tych znanych już z oryginalnego wydania, dołożono nagrania bonusowe, z których część nigdy wcześniej nie była publikowana. W sumie jest ich 19 i zajmują osobny krążek. Wśród niepublikowanych dotychczas klejnotów znajdują się wczesne wersje "Empire State", "Book Of Love", odrzuty, jak "If You Were My Love" albo "Smile At You". Jest też niewydany wcześnie cover piosenki Fatsa Domino "Blue Monday" oraz rzadki miks "Gypsy", który został wykorzystany w teledysku do piosenki. Utwory w wersjach live pochodzą z tournee z 1982 roku, a zarejestrowano je w Los Angeles. "Mirage" był następcą podwójnego dzieła "Tusk" z 1979 roku i trzecim z kolei wydawnictwem Fleetwood Mac, które w USA zyskało status platynowy.
