Ścieżka dźwiękowa Blues Brothers została wydana przez Atlantic Records. Na pierwszy rzut oka nie wydaje się to niezwykłe, ponieważ debiutancki album Blues Brothers „Briefcase Full of Blues” był albumem numer jeden; ale film został wydany przez Universal, a jego firma macierzysta, MCA, przekazała ścieżkę dźwiękową.  Uderzający remake „Gimme Some Lovin” grupy Spencera Davisa był hitem, z aranżacją godną uwagi na sekcję rogów, która zastępuje dudnienie Steve'a Winwooda. Ray Charles świetnie się bawi z „Shake a Tail Feather”, a pomagają mu Jake i Elwood Blues (odpowiednio Belushi i Aykroyd). Utwór „Everybody Needs Somebody to Love” Solomona Burke'a jest świetną zabawą, dzięki świetnemu ogólnemu rytmowi i błyskawicznemu rapowi Elwooda, a James Brown i wielebny James Cleveland Choir nadają muzyce gospel „Old Landmar”. „Think” Arethy Franklin jest wybuchowy, a „Minnie the Moocher” w Cab Calloway jest chytrze nieodparty.
