Popol Vuh są uznawani za pionierów awangardowej niemieckiej muzyki elektronicznej, ich wczesne utwory praktycznie stworzyły podstawy "Kosmische Muzik" ("Space Music") z brzmieniami syntezatora Moog połączonymi z etniczną perkusją. Później grupa ewoluowała, by objąć wszystkie rodzaje instrumentów (zarówno elektrycznych, jak i akustycznych) okrywających ich muzykę w duchowej i introspektywnej mistycznej aurze. Popol Vuh wywarł wpływ na wiele innych europejskich zespołów dzięki wyjątkowo miękkiej, ale rozbudowanej instrumentacji, czerpiąc inspirację z muzyki Tybetu, Afryki i prekolumbijskiej Ameryki.  W muzyce określanej czasem jako "eteryczna", stworzyli dźwięki przez psychodeliczne ściany dźwięku i są uważani za prekursorów współczesnej "world music", a także "new age" i "ambient". Popol Vuh regularnie współtworzył ścieżki dźwiękowe do filmów Wernera Herzoga, w tym klasyków takich jak "Aguirre", "Nosferatu", "Heart Of Glass" i "Cobra Verde". "For You And Me" był ich 17. albumem - muzyka łączy elementy z Himalajów, Irlandii, Grecji i Afryki - ten album ma styl i wdzięk, a zaktualizowana jakość brzmienia sprawia przyjemność słuchania. Utwory w połączeniu z ich ponadczasowym dramaturgicznym dźwiękiem, majestatycznymi akordami fortepianu, głębokim tekstem sprawiły, że album ten odróżnia się od banalnego mainstreamu z epoki.
