Ukończył Akademię Muzyczną w Lublanie w Słowenii i ukończył studia u Herberta Hencka w Kolonii w Niemczech. Występował w całej Europie (Niemcy, Włochy, Finlandia, Francja, Holandia, Hiszpania, Austria, Portugalia, Szwajcaria, Szwecja, Wielka Brytania, Rosji, USA, Ameryce Południowej i Chinach). Nagrał pełny zestaw fortepianowy Erika Satiego (10 płyt CD) wydany przez Holenderską wytwórnię Blaricum Music Group (seria Audiophile Classics), dla której przez wiele lat był wyłącznym twórcą. Ostatnio otrzymał wysokie uznanie za swoje interpretacje Arvo Pärta i Philipa Glassa. Otrzymał nagrodę Złotego Ptaka w 1986 roku oraz nagrodę Prešeren Fund w 2006 roku za kreatywność w dziedzinie muzyki. Jest profesorem muzyki kameralnej w Akademii Muzycznej w Lublanie i regularnie występuje z recitalami i koncertami. Erik Satie właśc. Éric Alfred Leslie Satie (ur. 17 maja 1866 w Honfleur, zm. 1 lipca 1925 w Paryżu) – francuski kompozytor. Uznawany za prekursora wielu późniejszych awangardowych kierunków artystycznych oraz za najbardziej ekscentrycznego kompozytora czasów Fin De Siècle. Jego prowokacyjne kompozycje w duchu mrocznej, modernistycznej dekadencji, w równym stopniu fascynowały współczesnych, co bulwersowały opinię publiczną. Nazywany był przez krytyków genialnym błaznem. Charakterystyczne dla twórczości Erika Satiego są terminy muzyczne i nazwy kompozycji wymyślone przez jego samego ("Gnossienne"), słowa które nie miały żadnego powiązania z muzyką ("Ogives" - ang. ostrołuk) lub nawiązujące do antycznej Grecji ("Gymnopédie"). Ideałem Satie była muzyka mogąca służyć za tło do życia codziennego, będąca niejako dodatkowym meblem domowym, czyli taka, która mogłaby wpływać na nastrój człowieka, ale nie absorbować go na tyle, aby odrywać od innych zajęć. Using a reduced orchestra, unusually without any lower brass, Mahler’s Fourth Symphony is influenced by the trend to revive the classical style of Haydn and Mozart, as a reaction against the monumental ‘Wagnerian’ romanticism of its predecessors. The work is based around the final movement, written some years earlier – its childish and naïve text giving shape to the other movements.
