Głos legendarnych Led Zeppelin oraz artysta z ogromnym dorobkiem na własny rachunek, Robert Plant, powraca z jedenastym studyjnym albumem o tytule "Carry Fire". Będący od lat w znakomitej formie Robert Plant, tym razem pracował nad piosenkami na album ze swoim stałym zespołem The Sensational Space Shifters. W jego składzie znajdują się: John Baggott (klawisze, perkusjonalnia, bendir), Justin Adams (gitara, oud, perkusjonalia), Dave Smith (bendir, tamburyn, djembe, perkusja) oraz Liam "Skin" Tyson (dobro, gitara, pedal steel guitar, 12-strunowa gitara). Do współpracy przy następcy znakomitego dzieła "Lullaby and...The Ceaseless Roar" z 2014 roku Plant, pełniący także obowiązki producenta, zaprosił również kilkoro gości. Tym najbardziej znanym jest oczywiście Chrissie Hynde z Pretenders (w "Bluebirds Over The Mountain" napisanej przez Ersela Hickeya, potem nagrana, chociażby przez Richiego Valensa i The Beach Boys). Oprócz Chrissie słychać na albumie dźwięki wiolonczeli, na której gra Albańczyk Redi Hasa, a także skrzypce i altówkę, których partie zarejestrował Seth Lakeman. Rejestracja materiału odbyła się w położonym na granicy Anglii i Walii studiu Top Cat. Dodatkowych nagrań dokonano w należących do Petera Gabriela Real World Studios oraz Rockfield Studios. Artysta połączył na albumie "Carry Fire" połączenie muzycznej tradycji z nowoczesnością. - Zrobiłem to celowo. Szanuję i cenię moje przeszłe dokonania, ale za każdym razem czuję potrzebę, aby pójść w nowym kierunku. Muszę miksować stare z nowym – mówił Plant.
