O czym traktuje "Afraid Of Heights"? – O walce. Wewnętrznej i zewnętrznej, w społeczeństwie, w którym żyjemy – tłumaczą muzycy. – Chodzi o zadawanie pytań, o przyjaźń, lojalność, o nieakceptowanie rzeczy i sytuacji, które do nas nie pasują. Chodzi też o branie odpowiedzialności i o niewstydzenie się osoby, którą co rano widzi się w lustrze. Chodzi także o podążanie za marzeniami i o to, że kiedy ci się nie uda, trzeba wstać i walczyć dalej – dodają członkowie Billy Talent. To bynajmniej nie wszystko, bo rozchodzi się też chociażby o poszanowanie natury i słuchanie sygnałów, które do nas wysyła. Ben, gitarzysta Ian D'Sa i basista Jonathan Gallant byli załamani, że serdeczny kumpel musiał zrezygnować. – To był najtrudniejszy moment w historii zespołu – zapewnia Ian, który zajął się produkcją i komponowaniem piosenek. – Ale chyba wszyscy zdawaliśmy sobie sprawę z tego, że ten moment musi kiedyś nadejść. A nadszedł tuż przed wejściem do studia. Po długim namyśle wybrano idealnie pasującego następcę, Jordana Hastingsa z Alexisonfire. Musiał minąć pewien czas, aby wszystko w Billy Talent znów zagrało jak trzeba i ostatecznie tak się właśnie stało. Jordan wpasował się w nowy zespół. Napięcie, jakie towarzyszyło procesowi dopasowywania się stron do siebie, zrodziło tytuł albumu. – Jest on metaforą strachu przed zaangażowaniem się – wyjaśnia Ian. Muzycznie odbiciem tego na albumie są dwie wersje piosenki tytułowej. Jedna power popowa, bardziej typowa dla Billy Talent, zaś druga bardziej oparta na brzmieniu fortepianu. Efekt końcowy, to najbardziej śmiały, odważny album w karierze zespołu. Zawierający nawet elementy syntezatorowe w stylu Depeche Mode (w "Horses And Chariots"). Warto wspomnieć, że Billy Talent, który istnieje już 13 lat i sprzedał na całym świecie ponad 3 mln albumów, będzie promować płytę "Afraid Of Heights" koncertami w Polsce.
