Lynyrd Skynyrd powrócił w znakomitym stylu we wrześniu, zeszłego roku, kiedy to ukazał się album "God & Guns", (był to pierwszy materiał studyjny od czasów "Vicious Cycle" z 2003 r. ) Grupa na muzycznej scenie działa od 1973 r., w 1977 r., po tragicznym wypadku samolotu, w którym zginęło 3 członków formacji, zespół zawiesił swoją działalność,a reaktywowany został w 1987 r. Najnowszy album stanowił 12 krążek w dyskografii tej kultowej southern rockowej formacji. Grupa, która ma już na koncie ponad 60 albumów i ponad 30 mln sprzedanych egzemplarzy płyt, pozostaje prawdziwą ikoną kultury, uniwersalną dla wszystkich pokoleń. Zespół pozostaje również w świetnej formie koncertowej, o czym świadczy właśnie koncertowy album "Live at Freedom Hall", na którym zawarto zapis rewelacyjnego występu zespołu z czerwca, 2007 r., w Louisville/ Kentucky, gdzie wśród 15 klasycznych kompozycji znalazły się również i nowsze utwory.
