Zespół Blackmore's Night powstał w drugiej połowie lat 90. Jego twórcą jest były gitarzysta Deep Purple, Ritchie Blackmore, który do współpracy namówił swoją partnerkę, wokalistkę Candice Night. W odróżnieniu od swojej wcześniejszej twórczości, Blackmore postanowił połączyć pod nowym szyldem muzykę renesansową z rockiem. Na drugą płytę Blackmore's Night trzeba było poczekać dwa lata.
