Kalifornijska formacja Swmrs to od ponad dekady poważna siła na amerykańskiej scenie pop-punkowej. Pochodzący z Oakland, czyli rodzinnego miasta Green Day, młodzi Amerykanie, nie tylko łączą chwytliwość i przebojowość z punkową zadziornością, lecz dodają do równania również pierwiastek surfujący. Można w tym przypadku powiedzieć, że nazwa i pochodzenie zobowiązują. "Berkeley's On Fire" jest czwartą studyjną płytą Pływaków. Najpierw promowało ją nagranie tytułowe, a potem piosenka "April In Houston". Do tej drugiej powstał wideoklip, który wyreżyserowała siostra wokalistów Cole'a i Maxa Beckerów, Marki Becker oraz Jarod Taber. Brzmienie utworów jest zasługą cenionego producenta Richa Costeya (m.in. Muse, Death Cab for Cutie). Inspiracją dla kwartetu były dokonania The Breeders, Rage Against The Machine, De La Soul. Główny przekaz tekstu to ucieczka od negatywnych informacji, od których roi się wszędzie w mediach. Oprócz wspomnianych Cole'a (wokal/gitara) i Max Becker (wokal/gitara) zespół Swmrs tworzą syn lidera Green Day, Billego Joe Armstronga, Joey, (perkusja) oraz Seb Mueller (gitara basowa).
