"oldies" już w czasie premiery kompilacji (1969 r.), ich ponadczasowy urok sprawił, że album stał się niemalże z miejsca bestsellerem. Pół wieku później nagrania te wciąż uważane są za klasykę gatunku rocksteady. Albumu nigdy później nie wznawiano, aż do teraz, kiedy fani mogą zaopatrzyć się w nowe wydanie "Duke Reid Golden Hits", które wiernie odtwarza pierwotną jakość nagrania.
