Blisko cztery lata od wydania wspaniałego krążka „Meteora” musiały minąć, aby fani Linkin Park mogli się cieszyć nową płytą swoich ulubieńców. Formacja nie zawiodła swoich wielbicieli oraz poważnie ich zaskoczyła. „Minutes To Midnight” z maja 2007 roku, to materiał nieco inny stylistycznie, bardziej melodyjny i gitarowy, mniej rapowy i elektroniczny, który okazał się dużym sukcesem komercyjnym. Był to pierwszy efekt współpracy Linkin Park z legendarnym producentem Rickiem Rubinem (m.in. Beastie Boys, Danzig, Johnny Cash). Materiał aż w 17 krajach dotarł do pierwszego miejsca notowań! Z albumu pochodzą znakomite kompozycje, jak „Given Up”, „Bleed It Out”, „Shadow Of The Day” oraz „What I've Done”. W Polsce album pokrył się złotem i dotarł do drugiego miejsca na liście sprzedaży.
