Dwadzieścia jeden lat temu, 3 października 1993 roku, ukazała się klasyczna dziś płyta The Afghan Whigs, "Gentlemen". Jak łatwo obliczyć, w 2014 roku mija 21 lat od jej premiery. Z okazji tych urodzin materiał ukazuje się ponownie w specjalnej, dwupłytowej wersji.Edycja deluxe płyty, której urodzinowy tytuł to "Gentlemen At 21", ukaże się w formacie CD, winylowym (1LP) oraz cyfrowym 27 października 2014 roku. Album wyprodukowany przez lidera legendy alternatywnego rocka, Grega Dullego, ukazuje się w na nowo zmasterowanej wersji. Do edycji dodano drugi dysk, na którym jest aż 17 kawałków, w tym numery w wersjach demo, strony B singli i piosenki w wersjach koncertowych. Zdecydowana większość dodatków ukazuje się po raz pierwszy. Wersje demo nagrano w Ultrasuede Studio w Cincinnati, należącym do basisty Johna Curleya. Na niektórych z nich uchwycono niesamowite momenty z sesji nagraniowej. Świetnie po latach prezentuje się znajdujący się na drugiej stronie singla "Debonair" numer "Mr. Superlove" oraz cover soulowego klasyka "Dark End Of The Street". Przypomnijmy, że nagrania kompozycji na "Gentlemen" odbyły się w Memphis, w Ardent Studios.Choć minęły ponad dwie dekady, piosenki z "Gentlemen" wciąż robią niesamowite wrażenie. Ich mroczne, intymne, bardzo osobiste teksty, śpiewane przez Dullego niesamowicie poruszającym, uduchowionym głosem, nic nie straciły na aktualności i zachwycają kolejne pokolenia fanów rocka. Oprawa graficzna oryginału została wiernie odtworzona.
