"Number The Brave" to jedenasty album studyjny Wishbone Ash. Po odejściu Martina Turnera (gitara basowa, wokal, produkcja) w 1980 r. został on na krótko zastąpiony w 1981 r. przez niezrównanego Johna Wettona (bas, wokal) z King Crimson. Na płycie znalazła się również wokalistka Claire Hamill, która na stałe weszła do zespołu Wishbone Ash podczas trasy koncertowej w 1981 roku. Od pierwszej chwili z opener "Loaded" było oczywiste, że zmiana składu zespołu nie sprawiła, że cokolwiek stracili na brzmieniu. W rzeczywistości wokal Wettona był pod pewnymi względami lepszy od wokalu Turnera i nadał inny wymiar aranżacjom. Piosenki takie jak "Underground", "Kicks On The Street", "Where Is The Love" i piękne rocker "Rainstorm" były absolutnie na najwyższym poziomie. Skład zespołu :  John Wetton – gitara basowa, wokal Andy Powell – gitara, wokal Laurie Wisefield – gitara, wokal  Steve Upton – perkusja  Krążek został wydany ponownie w 2018 roku nakładem wydawnictwa Music On CD.
