Gościnnie do pracy nad albumem Gira zaprosił między innymi Annę i Marię von Hausswolff, Bena Frosta, The Necks, Baby Dee Hawk i Hacksaw i wielu innych. „„Leaving Meaning” to pierwszy album odkąd rozwiązałem zespół, z którym współpracowałem w latach 2010-2017. Obecny skład tworzą muzycy, których wybrałem ze względu na ich muzyczny i osobisty charakter. Intuicyjnie wiedziałem, że będą pasować do klimatu jaki chciałem stworzyć na płycie. Dzięki swoim umiejętnościom, gustowi i osobowości, w znacznym stopniu wpłynęli na aranżacje nagranego materiału.
