Ten fascynujący projekt jest hołdem jaki brytyjski pianista Anthony de Mare składa komponującemu muzykę teatralną Stephenowi Sondheimowi. De Mare zaangażował współczesnych kompozytorów, reprezentujących odmienne gatunki muzyczne – od jazzu do muzyki klasycznej i filmowej - aby przekształcili piosenki Sondheima na utwory fortepianowe. Wsród zproszonych kompozytorów znaleźli się: Steve Reich, Wynton Marsais, Mark-Anthony Turnage, Fred Hersch, Ethan Iverson, William Bolcom, Frederic Rzewski, Nils Vigeland, Gabriel Kahane, Thomas Newman, Jake Heggie i wielu innych – w sumie 36 kompozytorów z siedmiu krajów.
