Projekt muzyczny „Mahalia Jackson In Memorial” jest ukłonem w stronę legendy muzyki jazzowej – w gatunku negro spirituals Mahalii Jackson (1911-1972) - królowej muzyki gospel. „Inspiracją do powstania wspomnianego wyżej projektu była muzyka Mahalii Jackson, której twórczość, której twórczość zafascynowała mnie jeszcze w wieku młodzieńczym - przesądziła o wyborze jazzu jako kierunku w mojej karierze artystycznej”. Zaskakującym i absolutnie wyjątkowym jest fakt, że na płycie wśród standardów spirituals znalazła się kompozycja polskiego kompozytora Fryderyka Chopina do której Mahalia napisała piękny tekst. Utwór nosi tytuł: „This Is My Faith”. Pozostałe utwory zostały zaaranżowane przez Marka Soskina legendarnego pianistę. Które regularnie współpracował z Soony Rollinsem. Na płycie znalazł się również utwór z filmu „The Preaches Wife”, w którym główną rolę grała Whitney Houston a jako jedną z pierwszych wykonawców była właśnie Mahalia Jackson. Płyta ta jest wspaniałą okazją do przypomnienia legendarnej trochę zapomnianej Mahalii w nowej jazzowej odsłonie z udziałem znakomitych polskich i amerykańskich artystów.
