Ponad 150 minut muzyki na trzech płytach ukazujących wiele twarzy brytyjskiej grupy rockowej The Smiths. "The Many Faces Of The Smiths" zostało ono podzielone na 3 części: CD 1 - "The Many Faces Of The Smiths" zawiera między innymi nagrania członków grupy The Smiths oraz ich przyjaciół. CD 2 - "The Smiths Live" zawiera koncert, który został zarejestrowany w Derby Assembly Rooms w dniu 6 grudnia 1983 roku. CD 3 - "The Songs" zawiera covery utworów The Smiths w wykonaniu różnych wykonawców. Grupa opierała się na duecie Morrissey – Johnny Marr i współpracowała z wytwórnią Rough Trade Records. Zespół sprzedał wiele albumów w Wielkiej Brytanii (mimo iż jedynie dwa nagrane przez nich single znalazły się na brytyjskiej liście dziesięciu najlepszych) i był jednym z czołowych przedstawicieli alternatywnego rocka, wywodzących się z brytyjskiej sceny lat osiemdziesiątych. Wywarł wpływ na rozwój gatunku indie, włączając w to tzw. brit pop i zespoły takie jak The Stone Roses, Gene, Radiohead, Blur, Suede, Oasis, The Libertines, Doves. Odnieśli sukces dzięki tekstom Morrisseya oraz muzyce Marra, która w Wielkiej Brytanii przyczyniła się do odrodzenia utworów opartych na gitarowych brzmieniach.
