Wprawdzie tytuł albumu "÷" po angielsku czyta się "Divide", co po polsku znaczy dzielić, ale muzyka zawarta na płycie z całą pewnością połączy miliony wielbicieli talentu Eda. Wyraźnie wskazuje na to przyjęcie dwóch pierwszych ujawnionych piosenek z płyty, "Shape Of You" i "Castle On The Hill", które pobiły w Polsce rekord utworów najczęściej odtwarzanych w ciągu jednego dnia w serwisie Spotify.Za produkcję odpowiadają Benny Blanco (Rihanna, The Weeknd) i Ed Sheeran. Anglik skorzystał także z talentów producenckich Johnny'ego McDaida, Mike'a Elizondo i Steve'a Maca. Nagrania odbyły się w Los Angeles, Londynie, Suffolk oraz na transatlantyckim liniowcu "RMS Queen Mary 2". Anglik jest też autorem okładki albumu. Sam ją wymyślił, a następnie namalował.Muzycznie mamy mieszankę starannie zaaranżowanych, chwytających za serce ballad, trochę hiphopowych beatów, wyszukanego popu, powstałego z połączenia różnych elementów. Nie zabraknie oczywiście uwielbianej przed Eda akustycznej gitary.Płyta "÷" jest dostępna w wersji standardowej, obejmującej 12 piosenek, a także w edycji deluxe, bogatszej o cztery kompozycje.
