Pierwszy album legendarnego wokalisty The Stone Roses po 9-letniej przerwie. Ian Brown wyprodukował oraz napisał większość kawałków na „Ripples”. Trzy utwory powstały we współpracy z synami muzyka, którzy także zagrali w wybranych piosenkach. Na krążku znajdą się dwa covery: „Black Roses” Barringtona Levy’ego oraz „Break Down The Walls” Mikey’ego Dreada. Nagrania odbyły się w Liverpoolu, a następnie dokonano kolejnych szlifów w Abbey Road Studios. Za miks odpowiada wieloletni współpracownik Browna, Steve Fitzmaurice. Cyfrowy master to dzieło Boba Ludwiga, a za master winyla odpowiada Chris Bellman. Ian Brown w całości nadzorował każdy aspekt projektu od strony kreatywnej wyprodukował album, wyreżyserował teledysk do singla „First World Problems” jak również zaprojektował okładkę.
