„Chris” to następca ikonicznego już „Chaleur Humaine”, debiutu utalentowanej Francuzki, który sprzedał się na całym świecie w ponad 1,3 mln egzemplarzy. „Nasz debiut opowiadał w większości o czasach nastoletnich i emocjach z tym związanych. Album jest w pewnym sensie delikatny, bo była to moja forma przedstawienia się na scenie” – opowiada Christine and The Queens i dodaje: „Przy drugiej płycie mogę pozwolić sobie na więcej radości. Zapoznawanie się mamy już za sobą, nabrałam większej pewności i jest to spójne z tym, co wydarzyło się w moim życiu”.
