Do tej, dość długiej już, listy należy dopisać 16 nowych, znakomitych numerów, w których słychać uwielbiany przez Kravitza soul, ostrego gitarowego rocka, prześliczne, liryczne ballady. Lenny na płycie jest taki, jak na każdym poprzednim wydawnictwie - wielobarwny. Raz mamy drapieżnego rockmana, po nim przychodzi rozsiewający erotyzm i zmysłowość wielbiciel soulu, zaś po nim melancholijny i subtelny balladzista. W tworzeniu tego niesamowitego zestawu 16 piosenek wspomogli Kravitza między innymi gitarzysta Craig Ross, nowoorleański jazzman Trombone Shorty i DJ Military. Kompozycje powstały w wielu miejscach - choćby w Paryżu i w niemałej części na wysepce na Bahamach, które Lenny uwielbia. Tam powstała między innymi piosenka "Life Ain't Ever Been Better Than It Is Now". A także zainspirowana tańcem kobiet w jednym z klubów na Bahamach "Boongie Drop", w której gościnnie pojawia się Jay-Z, a także DJ Military, didżej w klubie, w którym tańczyły panie, które zainspirowały Lenny'ego. "Liquid Jesus" z kolei, to efekt pracy artysty w stolicy Francji. "Wiele z piosenek nawiązuje do tego, czego słuchałem jako nastolatek - soulu i R&B, kapel w stylu Earth, Wind And Fire, Quincy'ego Jonesa" - zdradza Lenny. Tytuł krążka ma związek z filmem dokumentalnym, który Kravitz obejrzał w telewizji. Dotyczył on rasizmu w Ameryce po wybraniu Baracka Obamy na prezydenta. W tej kwestii artysta, mający korzenie żydowsko-murzyńskie, nawiązuje w tekstach do historii swojej rodziny. Lecz generalnie muzyka na krążku ma inny cel niż poruszanie sumień. "To celebracja, radość. Każdy, kto posłucha tych piosenek, będzie czuł się podniesiony na duchu" - zapewnia Lenny. Dziewiątą płytą artysta daje nam do zrozumienia, że po ponad 20 latach działalności, czterech nagrodach Grammy, przeszło 35 mln sprzedanych albumów, absolutnie nie ma zamiaru spoczywać na laurach. Album promuje rockowa piosenka "Stand". 9 listopada Lenny Kravitz zagra po raz kolejny w Polsce, na Torwarze w Warszawie. Warto wybrać się na ten koncert, aby posłuchać nowych piosenek artysty.
