Wydany oryginalnie w 1984 roku album był pierwszym wydawnictwem formacji Davida Coverdale'a, które pokryło się platyną w USA. Na całym świecie „Slide It In” rozszedł się w ponad 4 mln egzemplarzy i zapoczątkował okres wielkich sukcesów komercyjnych Whitesnake za oceanem. To właśnie na tym albumie znalazły się takie znakomite kompozycje formacji jak „Love Ain't No Stranger”, czy „Slow An' Easy”. Z okazji jubileuszu 35-lecia premiery płyta ukazuje się ponownie pod tytułem „Slide It In: The Ultimate Special Edition”. Będzie znacząco wzbogacona i pojawi się jako siedmiopłytowy zestaw, 6CD/1DVD. Clou wydawnictwa będą zremasterowane wersje albumu, angielska i amerykańska.
