Album Wives „So Removed” został wydany 4 października 2019 roku za pośrednictwem City Slang. Na zespół Wives składają się: wokalista i gitarzysta Jay Beach, gitarzysta Andrew Bailey (także z DIIV), perkusista Adam Sachs i basista Alex Crawford. 24 maja 2019 roku ukazał się ich debiutancki 7" singel „Waving Past Nirvana / Kinda Like You”. Zespół grający melodyjny punk zaprezentował wyreżyserowany przez Milah Libin teledysk do „Waving Past Nirvana”. Głośny utwór w stylu Sonic Youth i chwytliwy jak utwory The Pixies, pokazuje inteligentne brzmienie zespołu, oparte na grungy'owym dark-wave, pełne codziennego lęku, bez uciekania się do cynizmu. „Waving Past Nirvana” kołysze w rytmie rapu z lat osiemdziesiątych, zaś refren skacze do przodu w dekadę charakteryzującą się grunge'owym brzmieniem.
