Z okazji 40. rocznicy premiery albumu "Closer" Joy Division ukaże się reedycja dzieła. Wydawnictwo, wytłoczone na kryształowo-przezroczystym winylu, będzie następcą ubiegłorocznego wznowienia przełomowego debiutu formacji "Unknown Pleasures". Jednocześnie na winylowych 12-calowych krążkach ukażą się zremasterowane wersje niepochodzących z albumów singli "Transmission", "Atmosphere" oraz "Love Will Tear Us Apart". Od upadku wytwórni Factory single te nigdy nie były wznawiane. Teraz trafią do sprzedaży na 180-gramowych analogach z oryginalną grafiką okładkową. Okładka "Transmission" dodatkowo zostanie ozdobiona tłoczeniami. Joy Division zdążyli nagrać tylko dwie płyty nim wokalista Ian Curtis odebrał sobie życie w 1980 roku. Manchesterski kwartet ilość nadrobił jednak jakością. Dwa albumy formacji okazały się pionierskie, kształtując brzmienie i klimat muzyki alternatywnej. Ian Curtis (gitara/wokal), Bernard Sumner (klawisze), Peter Hook (bas) oraz Stephen Morris (perkusja) wydali debiutancki album "Unknown Pleasures" w 1979 roku. Klimatyczne brzmienie dzieła i takie utwory jak "She's Lost Control" czy "Day Of The Lords" zjednały grupie przychylność fanów oraz krytyków. "Closer", drugi album formacji, pojawił się na rynku rok później. Jego mroczne i melancholijne brzmienie, przejawiające się chociażby w utworach "Isolation" i "Heart and Soul", ponownie zapewniły Joy Division znakomite recenzje. Dyskografię zespołu uzupełniają kompilacje "Still" i "Substance", na których znalazły się niepochodzące z płyt single "Transmission" i "Love Will Tear Us Apart", jak również studyjne nagrania "Something Must Break" i "Ice Age", koncertowa wersja "Disorder" oraz jedyne wykonanie "Ceremony". The Dutch violinist and conductor captured in concert in his home town of Maastricht.
