Kolejna ciekawa artystka na horyzoncie. Jej ksywka to Y'akoto, a prezentowany materiał to jej debiutancki krążek. Naprawdę nazywa się Jennifer Yaa Akoto. Jej ojciec pochodzi z Ghany, matka jest Niemką. Młoda artystka urodziła się w Hamburgu, lecz zanim stała się dorosła mieszkała z rodzicami w takich krajach, jak Ghana, Kamerun, Togo, Czad. Dziś Y'akoto najczęściej przebywa w miejscu swojego urodzenia, Paryżu i Lomé. Młoda artystka prowadziła i prowadzi życie wagabundy, co nie pozostaje bez wpływu na jej muzykę. A tę ma we krwi od maleńkości. Za sprawą ojca, który jest cenionym afrykańskim muzykiem. Y'akoto od wczesnych lat dziecinnych uczyła się grać na fortepianie oraz śpiewała. Jako nastolatka brała udział w rozmaitych konkursach, zaczęła też dawać pierwsze koncerty. Inspirują ją rock, reggae, soul, funk, hip-hop i muzyka afrykańska. Kocha taniec i jest dyplomowaną instruktorką. Album "Babyblues" pomogli Y'akoto nagrać tacy artyści, jak Mocky, Haze i producencki team Kahedi. Mieszają się na nim wszystkie inspiracje młodej wokalistki, która śpiewa przede wszystkim o tym, co dotyka każdego z nas. Słychać wpływy jej idolek - Billie Holiday, Niny Simone, Erykah Badu.
