Przełomowy debiut Radio Tarifa - "Rumba Argelina" - oryginalnie ukazał się w 1996 roku nakładem World Circuit i do dziś uważany jest za klasyk gatunku fusion. Powołana na początku lat 90. grupa łączy w swej twórczości flamenco, muzykę arabsko-andaluzyjską, mauretańską oraz wpływy śródziemnomorskie i karaibskie. Egzotyczne melodie łączą z wyraźnymi rytmami i dźwiękami instrumentów perkusyjnych, dodając do tego funkowe gitary, fujarki i głos Escorizy. Nazwa zespołu zaczerpnięta została od przylądka Punta de Tarifa, najdalej wysuniętego na południe punktu lądowej Europy, który znajduje się najbliżej Afryki. Aczkolwiek w tekstach znalazło się miejsce na opisy tyranii, korupcji i nadużycia władzy na przestrzeni dziejów. Jest tu, chociażby utwór oparty na "Wyspie skarbów" Roberta Louisa Stevensona.
